    Nepal National
    Thursday 27th March, 2008
    (IANS)

Kathmandu, March 27 (Xinhua) Around 810 international observers from 29 organisations are expected to monitor the April 10 constituent assembly election in Nepal, The Himalayan Times reported Thursday.

Earlier, the Election Commission had said there would be some 550 international observers from 14 organisations.

The deadline for filing applications for observer accreditation has elapsed but the poll panel said it would make rules flexible.

Of late, the embassies of Australia, Bangladesh, Britain, Canada, France, Malaysia, Japan, Finland, Norway and Thailand have shown interest to deploy poll monitors.

In addition, the National Election Observation Committee has added 65 international observers to their list. Some 40 European Union observers arrived in Nepal Monday.
