Over ninety percent women in Pakistan are suffering from some form of gender-based violence, according to speakers at a seminar.

The seminar was organised by members of the Mumkin-Violence against Women Network in Punjab, the Daily Times reports.

The participants of the seminar said that promoting a society free of gender-based violence required contributions form the civil society, governmental institutions and private sector.

"The network is aimed to work on advocacy, researches on legislative measures and their implementation, lobbying and joint campaigns for elimination of violence against women," one speakers said.

She added that creating a similar platform in Punjab, on the lines of the Ending Violence against Women network, could significantly control gender violence. (ANI)
